OH HEY, NICE TO MEET YOU

My name is Samira Bakhtiary.
Born in Iran, fled after the Islamic Revolution
and now firmly rooted with three decades as a Californian.

While I’ve pursued several creative ventures in the past that include a career in hairdressing and a degree in interior design.

Art remains my central passion. Everything is political and artwork is the purest expression of that.

My artist name, sourbroughhh, is an evocative wink to where I grew up.
